Brewers beat Cardinals, retain NL Central lead

Cardinals lose ground in division race

Brewers win 5-3 in 10 innings

The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 5-3 in 10 innings on Tuesday night at American Family Field. The win gives the Brewers a 1.5-game lead over the Cardinals in the NL Central.

The Cardinals took an early 2-0 lead on a home run by Nolan Arenado in the first inning. The Brewers tied the game in the third inning on a two-run homer by Willy Adames.

The game remained tied until the 10th inning, when the Brewers scored three runs on a home run by Andrew McCutchen. The Cardinals scored one run in the bottom of the 10th, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Brewers' lead.

The Brewers' win was their fourth in a row. The Cardinals have lost two of their last three games.

The Brewers will face the Cardinals again on Wednesday night at American Family Field. The Cardinals will start Jack Flaherty, while the Brewers will start Corbin Burnes.
