Tropical Cyclone Sewerage Water Board Of New Orleans Louisiana Power Outage Entergy

Tropical Storm Nicole Expected to Bring Heavy Rain, Possible Power Outages to New Orleans Area

Tropical Storm Nicole is expected to bring heavy rainfall, potential flooding, and possible power outages to the New Orleans area, according to the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans

Residents should prepare for the storm by securing loose objects outside, stocking up on food and water, and having a plan in place in case of power outages.

The Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) is urging residents to prepare for Tropical Storm Nicole, which is expected to make landfall in Louisiana on Thursday night.

The SWBNO is closely monitoring the storm's progress and is preparing to respond to any flooding that may occur. The Board has already deployed additional pumps and personnel to areas that are at risk of flooding.

Residents should take the following steps to prepare for the storm:

* Secure loose objects outside, such as patio furniture and trash cans. * Stock up on food and water. * Have a plan in place in case of power outages, such as having a generator or staying with friends or family who have power. * Monitor the storm's progress and follow the instructions of local officials.

The SWBNO is also reminding residents that it is illegal to dump trash and debris into the streets. Doing so can clog catch basins and cause flooding.

Residents should call 311 to report any flooding or other issues related to the storm.

Entergy, the local power company, is also preparing for the storm. The company has activated its emergency response plan and is bringing in additional crews to help restore power if there are outages.

Residents can report power outages by calling 1-800-9OUTAGE (1-800-968-8243).
