Acu Has Ended Its Decades Long Practice Of Housing International Students In Homestays And Will Now Provide On Campus Accommodation

ACU ends housing of international students in homestays

ACU has ended its decades-long practice of housing international students in homestays and will now provide on-campus accommodation.

The university said the decision was made after a review of its homestay program found that it was no longer meeting the needs of students.

"The review found that the homestay program was no longer providing a consistent and high-quality experience for students," a university spokesperson said.

"The program also presented a number of challenges, including the need to find suitable homestays, the need to manage the relationship between students and host families, and the need to ensure that students were safe and well-cared for."

ACU said it will now provide on-campus accommodation for all international students who need it.

"This will ensure that students have a safe, comfortable and supportive environment in which to live and study," the spokesperson said.
