Toronto Native Returns to Sunshine State
Evan Rodrigues, a 29-year-old Canadian ice hockey center and winger, has inked a contract with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Rodrigues, who hails from Toronto, Ontario, previously played for the Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins. He brings a wealth of experience to the Panthers, having scored 43 goals and recorded 73 assists in 267 regular-season NHL games.
The deal with the Panthers is a two-year deal with an annual salary cap hit of $3 million. Rodrigues is expected to play a key role in the Panthers' top-six forward group.
"I'm excited to be back in Florida and to play for the Panthers," said Rodrigues. "I'm looking forward to contributing to the team's success and helping us bring a Stanley Cup to Sunrise."
