Biden Approves Hurricane Relief for Florida
President Biden has approved a major disaster declaration for Florida
The declaration will provide federal assistance to individuals and families in the state who have been affected by Hurricane Ian. The assistance will include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-interest loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help people recover from the storm.
The declaration covers 26 counties in Florida
The counties included in the declaration are Brevard, Broward, Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Flagler, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Lee, Manatee, Martin, Monroe, Okeechobee, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Seminole, and Volusia.

Individuals and families who have been affected by Hurricane Ian can apply for assistance from FEMA. They can do so by calling 1-800-621-3362 or by visiting the FEMA website at www.disasterassistance.gov.
