The MLB trade deadline has passed, and there was plenty of movement around the league. The biggest names on the move were Justin Verlander and Jordan Montgomery. Verlander was traded by the New York Mets to the Houston Astros for Drew Gilbert and Ramon Laureano. Montgomery was traded by the St. Louis Cardinals to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Michael Grove. The Astros also acquired Willson Contreras from the Chicago Cubs for a package of prospects. The Mets landed Daniel Vogelbach from the Arizona Diamondbacks for a pair of prospects. The Orioles also made a big move, acquiring Jordan Lyles from the Pittsburgh Pirates for a package of prospects. The Pirates acquired Bret Baty from the New York Mets for a package of prospects. The Rays also made a move, acquiring Jose Siri from the Houston Astros for a package of prospects. The Astros acquired Seth Beer from the Arizona Diamondbacks for a package of prospects.
